Cartoonish distortion -- works every time. Why it works, I guess, is the severity of departure from the normal context within which it's placed. The positioning of the braying horse is perfect. Everyone else seems to be searching for an errant golf ball.

Very funny idea. The man's somewhat disheveled coat and almost furtive cast out of the garden look of resignation say as much as the writing on the wall. The grungy processing rounds it out.

I like the subtle humor here. The timing of this shot had to be perfect, and it is. The left half of this image seems superfluous, but it certainly gives a context and breathing room for the humor to play out. My second favorite.

THE laugh out loud entry. Graphically simple and bold. Perfect composition. The seen-better-days sweatshirt really enhances the overall tone. And black and white is the only way to go. My personal favorite of the challenge.

Excellent exposure in this image misty with the atmosphere of a bygone era.
This pair of Marie Antoinette-ish barefoot women suggest to me that women are still subjugated in a world run by men who would be kings. The details in this dimly lit dungeon are wonderfully apparent and it took me awhile to notice that the barred doors in the background are closed. Very strong.
