A very pretty image. Beautiful golds and blues. And the half and half horizon works for me, even as the tower hits a third of the way in. Dreamy time of day. I'm nitpicking here, but the white bit on the ocean horizon is somewhat distracting. Overall, though, this is quite pleasing.

A very interesting and creative image. Because I can't read the man's expression I'm left a bit confused -- but in a good way. Without the excellent title I wonder what I would have made of it. The stark presentation invites the viewer to engage in its meaning. It certainly engages me and I appreciate it.

I like the simple but balanced composition and the looming perspective here. With sundials the procession of time is palpable, which is only exaggerated by the up-closeness of the image and the fine granulation of the concrete base. Nice and clean.

There's a nice silky glow to this deceivingly simple still life. The textures are understated but attractive. What I really like about the composition is how the shadow, watch and chain loop across the wood surface. That the watch face is cracked and the second hand is missing adds to the feeling of timelessness.

A magical and whimsical piece of architecture that revels in its symmetry. The sepia coloration is attractive. The portrayal of clouds behind the tower is excellent. Shift your focus and the central area morphs into a strange face, like an automaton. Appealing, interesting and satisfying.

Wonderfully playful and creative. Simple yet enchanting, with profound philosophical overtones. I love the bright colors and the way the shadow cast by a push pin forms a clock hand. Here's an interesting mind at work.

Excitingly complicated. The lines weave together at all angles, softened by the clocks' generous curves. As a matter of fact, the choice to go black and white is almost forced by the need to enforce some order on this intricate Rube Goldbergesque scene. What intrigues me the most is the notion that the clock faces are eyes and the machinery the brain at work. A real treat.

This is so enjoyable! The man is sound asleep, and probably snoring, in this quasi-home/work environment, with a hubbub of details strewn about. The pair of clocks, about two minutes at odds, hang on the wall like sun and moon. The woman in the picture above him, in her pose, is in curious synch with him. Wires casually drape around the electrical warning labels. The eye dances among all this detail, yet it's pleasantly well-composed and harmoniously colored. The bars pull the viewer back and force him or her to be an observer at a remove, like at a zoo. It's hyper-modern Norman Rockwell. My favorite in the challenge and into my favorites it goes.

Cascades of laughter greet Ben Duck as he enters the Colosseum for the chariot race to determine the winner of Caligula's daughter's hand in marriage. Good luck!
