The title says it all. The furtive concentration in the act is perfectly shown. The trees themselves are a major part of the image, the stage seemingly lit from within. It's a pleasure to be gifted with seeing this intimate moment.

The shimmer factor here is very high. Also like the various shades of green that create the composition, which is very interesting - in the good way. Ah, summer.

Nice how the silhouetted elements front the beautiful sky. The strong lines of the bridge are softly echoed by the few slender verticals. What a moment in the day. Now, those fish floating across the sky from right to left. What?? Got to assume that they're real, since this is a standard challenge. So, huh?

It's funny how a title can lead you by the hand into the picture, and now you're convinced that it's just as advertised. Whether it's building or booming, I can hear it. The stark contrast of the black and white treatment is dynamic.

Lost in clouds

Liking the way the clouds snake through the foreground, which breaks up the mountains. And now they must be put back together again by the gods. Throws one off balance. Also, it's neat how the image is mostly in black and white, but fringed a bit by a subtle green. Nice.

Love the Emerald City effect. And the glowing softness that unifies the city, a tumult of architecture. Beautifully framed by the dark foliage in the foreground and, in the background, the embrace of a languid sky. With all those lit windows the scene looks like a phantasmagoric punch card. Fine processing. Luminous.

This image has a charming musical quality, flutes and percussion. The sunlight and shadows dance along the architecture. It also has a maze-like feel. Clean and compelling. Fine photograph.

The Bridge

So many interesting ways to construct a leading line. Gritty and mesmerizing. The out of focus foreground - I like it - launches the viewer into far distance. The lights are especially entrancing. Seems to carry a mysterious weight beyond cars and trucks.

Water, The Gift of Life

This flat plain blossoms into a bounty of lines, as per the challenge, and also gives so much more delight. The road and verge lead to a vanishing point. Then there are the fence lines and the vertical lines of the storm issuing from a horizontal feast of clouds. Very "North By Northwest"-ish. The varied parts nicely come together.
