|_|by TiberiusComment: I can hardly concentrate on the scene for the pretty vertical shapes. It's like a bouquet in the vase of life. Fine use of the format. Busy and charming. |

take it with a grain of saltby jmritzComment: Not sure why this works for me, but it does. Perhaps it's the disconcerting slant, or the woman's position. Is she sleeping or tired or in pain? Does her walker, if it's hers, explain everything? Is there a symbolic connection between her and the machine in the center background? I'm curious about the story. I like the unpretentious ordinariness of the scene. It holds the attention and leaves one incomplete. |

Morning Gloryby PennyStreetComment: The grace of the tendrils and the transitioning pink and blue of the sky set a lovely scene, but it's the beautiful color, detail and position of the morning glory that fully delivers. It seems to be longing, striving. The framing of the tendrils puts her, if I may, on stage, delicate and contained before the audience. Nice. |

Treesby AmmieComment: A poetic image. The burnt orange tone conveys heat and dryness, unbounded. The trees have a nice rhythm. The grass sparkles under the sun. The unusual composition works. The background is barely defined, but majestic. |

Legs foreverby BenstedComment: Sure looks like a mannequin, yet it's not 100%. She fills the space well. The contrast is terrific. Very stylish. |

momentaryby RKTComment: One wing happens to be a bit obscured by a flower, but otherwise most impressive. I'm a fan of using uncluttered space to set a mood, to allow an image to open up in due course. Here it feels like we're seeing a movement out of the corner of an eye. The tone is sumptuous. It's totally balanced, for me. I find myself nodding my head. |

Eye Levelby MaryOComment: Beautifully handled. It's surprising that we very rarely (a first for me) see this perspective on butterflies, for it's interesting and kind of revelatory. This is flight. Poised on these purple flowers, we can almost feel the breeze lifting him or her up, lifting us up. The perspective creates some confusion on the left, but only because we're so close. Fine fit for this format. |

Mountains of Iceby DennisheckmanComment: A Rorschach test in snowy realms for the planet. I see a clarion call for help. I'm thinking this is the edge of a glacier. Though many places have this landscape, it reminds me of Iceland, which we visited last summer. The lines of the ice mountains play off against the distant mountain skyline, and actually seem more real. The reflections join in the conversation. It's both calm and eerie. The haziness of the background also feels like commentary. I guess this sparks a personal line of thought. It's a good, provocative image. |
