"Its Gonna Be A Long Long Night ... "by JectoComment: Great shot- one of the few entries that clearly demonstrates boredom, yet still offers a context and skillful lighting. I think you have a good shot at ribboning with this one. Good luck! 9 |

California Coast by nrulkovComment: Congratulations on your blue ribbon, Nikolai! You now have the highest-scoring shot ever for the Canon Digital Rebel, a title that I held for all of one week (gee, thanks). It's amusing to note that I stood in the very same spot at Torrey Pines just last month. ;-) Message edited by author 2005-03-28 14:35:29. |

Stand By Me by librodoComment: What a surprise. In challenges that focus on capturing the emotions of people, you only leave two ribbons to compete for. Congrats again. |

Stand By Me by librodoComment: The captured emotion of Librodo and the soft tones of Grigrigirl combined into one of the most skillful portraits I've seen here in a while. The DOF guides you straight into that girl's eyes and keeps you there. Easy top 5, if not a ribbon. |

Friends since foreverby BrennanOBComment: Now this is friendship to the point of stereotype. Perfect lighting and mood. Now that I've gone through the competition, I can safely say congratulations on your ribbon! 10 |

Compadresby PedroComment: Hmm... Thai kids, Spanish title, same muted colors as a certain Wisdom photo... hi, Pedro! I have a similar reaction to this photo as your Lines portrait- the models and composition (less so on this one) remind me very much of Librodo, but the colors and lighting just aren't the same.
The lack of shadow detail isn't Manny's style, and the colors remind me of when I had my camera set to an Adobe RGB color space. It's a good photo, and should score fine, but ya' gotta find a way to bottle some Librodo and bring it back home. Of course, if this turns out to be his, I'll be going into hiding for a while. ;-) |
