Sea Mist At Low Tideby hughletherenComment: Wonderful fog-shrouded background! The subject is interesting, a nice choice. My eye wanders trying to hold onto something, but fails. I keep thinking how that would change...something sharp, or well lit, or a different (lower?) point of view? |

Icy Light Houseby DrakeComment: Amazing subject! I can't imagine where you were standing when you took this! Composition seems fine and, given the weather, the lighting is o.k. Still, I wonder what this loooked like after the storm broke and the light returned. |

Hayden Valleyby GallatinComment: Beautiful valley on a lovely day! It is the S shape of the river which holds my attention. However, as such, I wish there were more river and less pavement. Another moment, perhaps, when the centered mountains were not darkened by the clouds could also improve the impact of your image. Still, lovely overall. |

Hepaticaby scrum8Comment: Nice portrait of a flower. Crisp! The composition works well, the background gives good context, the colors are believable. I know there are those here who are tired of flowers, but I hope I never tire of something so delicate yet complex. |

Contemplationby SunnieeComment: Lovely bands of color! I like this very much and think it is aptly titled. Only quibble I'll make is with the positioning of the foam--it disects the head of your subject. Perhaps if you'd taken another frame a second or so later.... |

Hanging Outby Rando D300Comment: Nice bokeh! (I can say that now that I've learned a new word.)
These are beautiful animals caught at a wonderful time. I'd only suggest that some of the dark area on the right could be cloned out--it doesn't add much for me, and tends to pull the eye away from your truly fascinating subject. |

Two Zebrasby dsa157Comment: Simply a beautiful abstraction of these zebras! Just enough to know what it is (even which way their facing) and yet just too little to say "Oh look, zebras".....
(I think you should name the one in from Seven-hundred-ten for the markings to the right.)
Good luck with your Best of '04! |

Remenisingby leafComment: Lovely portrait of a woman! I feel as though I'm sitting with her conversing. There's just enough of her environment to know she is in her own space--at least it feels that way. The color of her skin is just beautiful--what a wonderfully young old woman! |

Toddling in the Pastureby wkmenComment: Superb! There's so many nice things to say about this! Depth of field--right on! Motion blur on that little leg taking its next step! Colors--so crisp and realistic! And look at the skin on that baby! No question, one of the best characterizations of a young child I've ever seen.
Ok...have a few more: !!!!!!! |
