Charming! Expert lighting and wonderful expression! To be critical, the pigtail on the right is unfortunately sharp and contrasty--spot editing might help diminish its intrusion to the composition.

A nice expressive portrait. She looks a bit too sad, perhaps, while it seems you were going for wistful. I'm one of those who thinks of "studio" as an inside place--so it's not quite perfect for the challenge, in my opinion.

Good strong lighting but there is an unfortunate shadow cast on the bridge of the nose. Good facial expression. Kinda wish he was sitting up a bit more--though its not too bad for the casual feel of this portrait. I think "plumber" in your title throws it a little out of whack as there's no indication elsewhere of his trade.

An unusual subject for this challenge. The lighting is dramatic and the color very strong. Like the use of negative space.

Lovely lighting and color. The crop adds interest to the subject. I wonder if using a longer lens would help minimize the apparent exaggeration of her nose? Little noise in the background evident on my screen.

This is a beautiful picture of a handsome man with a wonderful expression! The flowers do get in the way along with the unknown blurry object at the bottom right. On my screen, this is a bit over-bright, which unfortunately may be the only thing you can fix. Too bad, you have a good eye for timing.

Beautiful, high contrast! Just what a paper needs to print. Composition seems to suffer from the vertical of the tree and its reflection bisecting the photo, however.

Well....maybe the meterorite struck, but then I want to see the hole in the roof. Looks like you've got lens flare on the corner of the house as well.

The photo has merit, but the over brightness really detracts and, for a newspaper, the really needs to be much more contrast.
