Dexterityby jazzmikComment: The first time I looked at this I had no idea what it was--this morning it's as clear as daylight. Obviously a tricky subject! Like the symmetry of the composition, but the gap between the balls seems too far apart...it justs keeps drawing me to it. |

Roll Callby biggood53Comment: This image compels one to look at it awhile. I like the rich colors of the items you chose. Wish the Roll was just as antique looking as the other items, though. It also strikes me as odd that your list of students isn't in alphabetic order...
Composition is pleasing. Lighting well handled. |

Old Pennsylvania School Houseby admart01Comment: Beautiful! I like the way the larger structure is implied by the geometric shadow. Lovely texture and colors. I'll believe its a schoolhouse because you say so. Might have cropped a little off the left, but that's just a minor quibble. |

Emptied pocketsby RussComment: I love the idea here! Well-chosen items to represent the many facets of a shoolchild's life... I have to admit I haven't made up my mind about the choice of lighting. On the one hand it helps some of the items stand out, such as the pencil, coins and rubberband chain. On the other hand it complicates the shoelace...o.k. 1 negative vs 3 positives, you win. |

Show them the wayby LatteComment: I think I get it--Jonathan Livingston Pigeon! Cute idea.
Composition is effective. Colors are nice--orange/blue works well. It would have been even nicer if that scene-stealer hadn't imposed itself in the bottom right of the picture. Saved somewhat by the building as background...but didn't you just wish you could clone it out? |

Hurrying to evening classes at the uniby GautiComment: Clever title and the idea of capturing the shadow on the building is great. I think this could be improved by leveling the horizon line and using a tighter crop to focus attention more closely on your subject. |

¥ Study Hard ¥by mrwaffles989Comment: I like the setting, the framing, and the studious attitude of the subject. However, it shows up very dark, even on my "other" well-calibrated monitor. I think this could be fixed in processing as it seems that the tonal range is all there. |

If only it worked this way...by AlbireoComment: Ahh...learning by osmosis!
The lighting is very pretty, it isolates your subject well. Love the colors and the softeness in this. Of its type in this challenge, yours is one of the few where the subject really appears to be asleep. Nicely done. |

For the Teacherby kirtiebuComment: Like the high-key in this. Wish the apple were a little more "polished" I think the colored ends of the pens fight for attention and draw the eye away too much. Nice idea, though. |

Still Studying at 69by chookieComment: Nice humor. The hat/wig is just enough to force that second look...a little jarring, though. I'll quibble with the prominance of the word Wine in the upper righthand corner--obviously his continued studies include some interesting topics--but I'd cut that book out or turn the rest of the shelves into similar "advanced" studies. Flash is a little harsh. Composition appropriate. Good luck with voters. |
