Manchester Eyeby michael_pComment: I like the framing and the star effect on the light sources works well for this shot. Without the title it's a little confusing whether the ride or bus of the centre of interest (or maybe even the green traffic light), but it's quite a good shot. |

Life on the Streetsby kervinchongComment: Good work - it's a good black+white shot, somewhat similar to what I originally planned to take. The composition and angles is a little awkward but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing for this photo, and it definitely has the feel of a person walking by looking down. Good work. |

Pushed to the City Limitby dw_photoComment: That's a really nice interesting shot. It shows City and it shows Life. I live on the very outskirts of a large city (although much further from the centre than that shot). I like the use of black+white - it simplifies the photo and let's the viewer focus on shapes and lines and textures. |

Taxiby scared_of_the_darkComment: I like the colours in this shot and the people's expressions. Also the composition and general technical quality is quite good. Well done. Most of all though, I love what appears to be a giant Mercedes-Benz logo... What a classy taxi! |

New Year's Day in Philadelphiaby KelliComment: It's a very colourful, exciting shot. Personally I would have cropped differently though - either moving Wendy (is that the characters name?) off-centre or perhaps including more of the crowd watching. Have a look around for "Rules of Thirds" and try placing the characters eye in a thirds-corner... See if it works for this shot or not. Other than that, well done. |

Make a Wishby Dr.ConfuserComment: It's a good shot, but I don't see a strong tie to the challenge subject. Also, the hands are too close to her eye and are a little distracting. I really like the colour and warmth of the shot though and it has an interesting crop. |

Silver Elvisby bucketComment: What a cool guy. I'm assuming it's a painted artist that sometimes moves a little. Personally I would have focused more on the person - if not for the title I almost would have missed him hiding there in the corner. As it was it was a pleasant surprise to see him there. Good work. |

Security in the cityby LongreachComment: RACV... Hmm, another local. I've already seen two other Melbourne photos (well, one of them is mine). It's kind of sad I can identify the purpose of most of those keys. This is a different approach to the subject and relatively well done. |

Hitting the Cityby rapidComment: Interesting colorisation (I'm assuming), although I'm not sure what it adds to the image. I travel to the city every day by train, so I understand how it becomes a part of life. |

New Haven Docks, 1932by glodaComment: 1932 you say... Well that's surely outside the submission timeframe. :-) Good composition, good sepia and the grain effect is ok as well. It's good that his attire is appropriate to the timeframe you suggest. I like this shot - good portrait. |
