WhatHappensby ubiqueComment: Paul,
Where to beginâ€Â¦ Brilliant stuff! I feel like I’m someplace between you, the photographer, and your subject. Really there is no camera at all, just this space between.
It̢۪s a very relaxing experience to just let it play out. I̢۪ve gone through it a few times and it doesn̢۪t get old. That̢۪s all I can ask for and you delivered big time. Thanks!
I̢۪m interested in what tools you used to create this piece? |

1by markwileyComment: First of all, I̢۪m happy to see you join this side challenge. Coalescing several images into an essay has been a rewarding experience for me. When done well the final result has more impact than the individual images. And that̢۪s what you have done. What captivates me about your essay is the commuters eyes. The expressionless stairs mixed with curious observers. It̢۪s remarkable how we see and experience the same thing differently. You̢۪ve captured the commuters experience very well.

1by 2mccsComment: Marla, always a pleasure to view you photographs. This is no exception, with the added bonus of reading your thoughts. You mentioned that you̢۪re not comfortable using Nik Analog filters. I understand how you feel but they work very well. You can always apply subtle filters so they̢۪re not as noticeable.
I like the consistency in you processing. I̢۪ve tried mixing different processing techniques in a single essay but haven̢۪t had much luck. For me, it just flows more naturally the way you presented your story. The photographs you̢۪ve chosen interact well together without any redundancy. Images 4 through 7 is probably my favorite stretch. Very impressive for your first attempt at street! I hope you'll continue contributing to this side challenge. It will be interesting to see where your photography leads you.

Coffee and Papersby gaeranComment: Hard to capture these this clean. No distracting reflections and your toning works well. |
