If you had just a whisper of fill light in the shadows , the kind you would get having a small flag of paper to bounce some of the light from the left to fill in the right hand side of the image, it might keep the eye more entertained over in the shadows. |

Chive On...by PixlmakerComment: You really nailed the main subject, and have some nice bokeh going, but the placement of the second flower, just behind the one in focus steals a lot of the magic here. A slight move to one side or the other would have made a better image. Or just snipping off the flower. Message edited by author 2014-08-01 20:32:13. |

A Burst Of Purple!by PixlmakerComment: I think this shot got undervalued because of the recent fireworks challenge. I don't see how it deserves all those sub 5 scores, it has nice foreground interest and a solid purple subject. Shrug, who understands the voters? |
