Sunset at Castle Hill by BobsterLobsterComment: I can't wait to read how you did this. I've never seen such beautiful depth in a sunset photo. Your technique with ap. and shutter speed, etc. is pitch perfect, and so is this image. I'm betting on the blue ribbon. |

Golden Lightby JPRComment: I absolutely love this. The lighting is perfect. Plus, I have an addiction to spider monkeys - tried to shoot wild ones in Costa Rica and the majority didn't turn out b/c of bad sunlight. The only thing that would make this a perfect 10 is if the feet and hands were showing. However, the emotion and drama is definitely caputred regardless. |

Teaching A Dog To Ride A Bicycleby guitar_mannComment: This is such a great subject. If you ever get the chance to shoot again, you may find adding a bit of negative(empty) space to the left side will add to the pic - and give a sense of movement/potential movment that the dog is going to ride away. but keep the angle - it's perfect. Also, it seems a bit dark on my monitor. Dusk/Dawn is a great time to shoot- but sometimes if it's cloudy you need a bit more light. the details are just a bit lost in the dog, but I totally understand since you have to shrink these photos so small for challenges. Ihope you do well. |

Can You Feel It?by bobgaitherComment: This is an absolutely stunning image. I think it's one of the best I've seen in a challenge in quite a while - definitely sellable. I'm giving it a 10. However, you may find that your score suffers if others don't think it meets the challenge descrpition. People get really fussy around here. However, this image is brilliant. |

Expectantby ZoomdakComment: Ohmygod. I absolutely love this. It's brilliant. I really love the way you shot something normally so common and made it look so unique and wonderful. The backlighting is dead on - and I just love all the drama you've captured. It isn't just a flat photograph - it really tells a story. Bravo. I hope you do really well. 10 |

My Girlby albadComment: This is a really beautiful picture and a great example of back lighting. It's a shame the feet are cut off. Also, the person in behind, although with a shallow DOF, is a bit distracting and doesn't add anything to the image. But overall a really good job. |

Long Way To Goby kevinfComment: This concept is brilliant. I love what you've done here. It's so unique and stands out from the rest. There are some great shots in this challenge, but you are the only one who decided to do something unconventional. Plus, it's really well composed. Bravo! |

Come Ride Vermontby Russell2566Comment: This must have been a challenging shot to take. A few quick notes: never compose a photo with something distracting from your subject. Your eye should be drawn to the subject only and then be able to move around the image. Right now, my eye is drawn to the sideways tree with the ribbon and not the subject. Also, think of your "canvas" as divided into threes. Try to compose the main subject so it shows in one third of your image, not in the dead center. You can fix this by cropping in PhotoShop after the fact if your camera has troubles with focus. Also, the half-cut man on the left doesn't add anything to this image. In the future probably a good idea to crop this kind of thing out. I realize fast sports shots aren't the easiest - esp. in the dark woods. Changing composition like this move your score from a 4 to a 6 or even a 7! Another quick note... although I may be just seeing things incorrectly on my screen (a possibility), the image seems a bit grainy in the darker parts. This may suggest you increased the ISO slightly. YOu may get better results decreasing ISO (for grain factor). My last digital camera used to react like this a bit and I had to keep the ISO at 80, even in dark situations. But I could be seeing things wrong so ignore if this is the case. Good luck in future challenges. |

Hoppily Ever After by scalvertComment: ONe of the best I've seen in any challenge ever. IF you don't get first place I'll be totally surprised. Amazing job. I love that it's original, fits the challenge, plus it's pitch perfect photography. Lighting, composition, everything is perfect. |
