Disconnectby romilComment: there's some strong emotional elements to this shot that i can see and they really help make a case for it.
The expression of the old man is really the anchor for me, the crack right behind him on the pillar adds to the impact. The man in the back seems to be holding what looks like a cellphone? Regardless the idea of disconnect between the two humans comes across really well.
critique: There are also small bits that can be considered distracting (the cut off head) if that's the approach you were going for, maybe experiment with removing more of his scalp from the image to get rid of some of the distractions from the top edge of the frame?
The man in the back switches between complementary and distracting roles. i'd like to see him just a tad bit more in focus to see if that changes- but i guess that's not a possibility at this point. This might just be because the man in focus+ the crack almost make the image by themselves, the one in the back - for me - needs something - not sure what - to make him part of the image. kjby sceneitComment: i really like this - the light compliments the expression. There's just enough light to show exactly the amount that makes this compelling. Well done.
critique: would like to see maybe a little more of the blackspace in the left and a little cut from the right - but thats just a stylistic difference - maybe would end up with the same thing at the end.
i'd also experiment with eliminating the light at the left back side and go even more minimal to see how that looks |

That is making me wondering whether I should cheer for you or cheer for our beloved " Bear_Music" because both side of the photographs are awesome! I would say put a red ribbon next to your profile too ;)
Very nicely done! |
its all Bear, his settings, idea, placement, etc. i was used as a remote trigger- that's all. |
