Eleven Point Riverby bobccComment: This is a gorgeous photograph and you were smart to keep the sky out, as it has everything going on without it. Great light, nice composition with the detailed tree in the front, and it's nice to see you didn't go crazy with the processing. Colors are beautiful at that time of day as is with fall to boot.
I entered one for the first time and for fall in Colorado it as a nice scene, great light, but was lacking in the foreground subject interest, as yours was not.
I thought yours was among the very best, it gives me some insight into how things are evaluated here and people's tastes.

The vineyards of La Clapeby jjbeguinComment: Great scene and beautiful colors and lines. Love the light on the fields, the range of those burnt to green colors and the line from shadow to sun in the bottom part of the frame.
Perahps stronger would be at a vantage point to the right given the fence lines more diagonal lines. The sky does nothing for the image and if anything may to my eye detract some. I wonder if cropping this a bit more would help. Nice. |

Night & Dayby jagarComment: I like this and the setup and her looking ouside the scene and the B and W. I think it would be stronger, with more focus on the central subject with shallow DOF. As it is, there are 2 scenes going on. |

African Royaltyby HarveyGComment: sharp, good colors, and great backgorund. Might clone out the white thing at the top as it may catch an eye or two. I like the square crop, but wonder what it would look like bring the right side in a bit more and the bottom up, as I really like the negative space you get at the left and top but that falls off a bit on the right.
just a few cents there, but nice. |

Head Dressby MagnumphotographyComment: Nicely focused, good colors, and crisp. That verical line I find distracting. It also seems to have a bit too much room on the left side of the frame??? The feels a little centered and there seems as I said, to be a bit more space to left tnan optimum. I like the negative space this guy presents, but wonder if it could be taken more advantage of. |

Little Manby Ja-9Comment: This turned out great. Wonderful focus and great outfit popping the face and losing much of else. I may be completely off base here but I'm wondering if you put a level of gaussian or similar blur or did a combined action to smooth out his face? If not and it's just crazy baby smooth complexion--that's fine. If not, my feeling is that you went to far in smoothing the face; to me it just isn't needed. I nothing done and just his face, my apologies. Perfect for the B and W onversion and nicely framed. |

Beauty in Weedsby BenstedComment: Very pretty with the nice bokeh but in order to pull these off, the focus realy needs to be super sharp. tripod, mirror lock, focus in iive view, and a good lens gets you there. |

Ellieby timfythetooComment: Eyes are great. Something about the high key skin brightness and mix with the eyes seem not to go together for my eyes. Compared to the left side of the face, the high key side just seems overexposed to met, rather than having that neat high key effect. |

Cottonwood Creek by DennisheckmanComment: HI Dennis,
I came back to this site for another look after not checking it out for awhile. NIce to see some of your photos from some places I know--I live in SW Boulder. I have really enjoyed looking at your photos, and the one with camera strapped on to the bike---super creative design, it came out great.
Stay off that barb wire at Rocky Flats though, it will not only shred you, but light you up!.
