Tried With Fireby sherComment: You can't have two solid, hard objects and then a plastic-looking, clear object right next to it. You're breaking up the theme of the picture and confusing your viewers. Think of every picture you take as an instantaneous moment from a good story--all the elements are working towards one specific idea, combing to complement (not substitute for) each other. |

Stillness in the Nightby ddmckinney1954Comment: Very cool. Just not up to par with some of the others, which deserve the win. I can't complain about your picture though; you've obviously got an eye for scenery and color matching. |

Forgottenby SonifoComment: The blending of color and texture in this photograph is breathtaking--it really is. The shadows you let onto your subject show that you're unafraid to let your textures speak for you. This picture inspires a feeling of insecurity, and the grainular surface only catalyzes that. You deserve the win, you really do. |

silent blueby kaushComment: Great lighting; bad subject. An old, worn-out church would be good, not the Taj Mahal. |

Preserved Roseby pitsamanComment: Wow, this has potential. Put that flower up against the Wall Street Journal's pale yellow stock pages and this would've won the contest by far. I'll still give you a 9 for being pretty damn creative. I've never thought of this before. |

Death Do We Partby crabappl3Comment: Very contrived, as I'm sure you were going for. But when you're working with delicate, dried petals, you needs something rugged and hard to contrast. Shiny rings don't work. Maybe against a wood or marble background in black and white. |
