Stunt Kite Storm Dodgingby CuttoothComment: once you pass the novice (plastic) level, the kites become more and more dangerous until you reach fully metal kites with thin copper wire for the string.
nobody has survived to see what level lies beyond that... |

Chasing Stormsby RianBotesComment: nice capture on this one.
i love that the lightning strikes look like a walking abomination of nature (with one leg/arm raised up and ready to strike down those who deserve it's wrath, below) |

world cup in bird trainingby mrbig65Comment: i'm at a bit of a loss here for what to say, but i'm trying to comment 100% with either thoughtful comments, what i think worked/didn't for me, or something that i find witty. so here goes.
"what jim failed to realize was that being told you can't blindly train birds was a personal critique on his failure to see what was plainly in front of him; not that he required previous training in the field"
i do enjoy the artistic concept of the image and find it quite pleasant to look at; for the challenge it's a loose fit in my eyes, but that in no way alters it's simplicity and beauty. i'm still giving this an 8. |

Birdie Basketballby spiritualspatulaComment: pretty easy to slam it home when you can fly
lets see these guys sink 3 from out past the line ;p
overall i think this is a great image. i'm not sure why they only have a light under the net while the rest of the gymnasium is sideways and dark, but that's neither here nor there. what's important is that the biards look great, and this is such a fun image!
i'm thinking this should have no problem making top 10. |

When Business is Slowby instepsComment: we practice our waltz with the mannequins.
perhaps one day he will be able to show the world his perfect form, but for now the only eyes that witness this grace cannot speak of it. |

Big Game Butterfly Huntingby escapetoozComment: this is definitely one part of the world i don't want to be anywhere near.
the bigger the insect, the further away i want to be.
either that or this is a level 1 character in any role playing game from the 80's and early 90's where you fight oversized wildlife before you get into the dragons and monsters, in which case i hope he "leveled up" after this encounter! ;P |
