i commented on my other 9 vote given to a gun/flower image my thoughts about the idea of peace coming out of the disarming of ourselves and think that it is equally true in this image, and can be easily transitioned to applying that mentality to "how we arm our children to deal with the world".
teaching our youth that guns are the key will not promote peace, but teaching our children the right and wrong times to arm one-self (with whatever weapon) is one of the most important things a parent can do.

there is a lot of symbolism that can be taken from this image (water to give life to plants, peace coming from disarming, no peace without protection, peace prospering out of the remnants of war....there are many many more) and I hope that is not lost on people (not just voters here, but on our species as a collective whole, because if it is, we won't be around for much longer.

Give Peace a Chance

one of my top scores given out (a 9).
Kudos for changing the perspective to the flower in the challenge of guns.
Many may read my comments on this challenge (and my scores moreso) as a general "anti gun person" - which is not the case. I think they have a time and place, and I love the minimal amount of gun here, showcasing that peace can grow out of the fading of arming ourselves.
that is not always the case, i'm not naieve, but anybody who believes the opposite is blind to a cyclical arms race that will inevitably come about from wide-spread like-minded mentality.

my 2nd highest vote in the challenge with a 9
the title is an adage i have not heard in a long time and is a fresh take on shooting such a (pardon the obvious pun) powder keg of a subject.
i've upvoted imagery here that has gone against the standard of just taking pictures of firearms and have thrown a new perspective at people to see a different idea of "gun".
time's arrow points us ever forward, with no offramp to go back and see what was missed, and is met at the end with a sudden and inevitable stop.

"Guns"

*THIS* is so very much what i was expecting someone to do.
Thank you.

While i'm not *against* guns as a tool in specific circumstances, I do not think they need to be promoted and lauded with the gusto that so many people have for them.

I'm going to give this a 10 for being fun and standing out

sadly this is more of the average american...at least the vocal ones.
replace bible for other religious book and "american" for one of several other nationalities in the world and you get a perspective of a screwed up life form bent on destruction and it makes you wonder how we have made it as far as we have (likely due to the fact we could not as easily cross great distances before the last century).
sadly this image to me should be titled "the cause of, and end of, many of life's problems"

8 for standing out and not just doing a stock shot of something that takes shots :)

love the fact you are photographing the mayo directly, but the hardware store background is distracting
