This picture draws me in ... I really want to follow the path toward the city in the distance, taking pictures of the stone sentinel on the hill along the way. The b/w definitely works here but I'd love to see what the colors were.

A very appropriate place for a ghost-like image. The white of the snow is almost too intense but it works here.

Unfortunately I think you got a double whammy ... the light from the city looks very sunset-like. In a challenge that called for night the voters were all over this. Second is shadow versus silhouette. If the guy had been walking along a fence with the city as a background so that you could see him walking you might have scored higher.

My favorite in this challenge ... It's a great beach shot (colors, tones and waves), sates the obvious and brings back memories of writing n the sand.
