very, very odd. 53 mostly positive comments...but no favorites. i think street photography may be officially dead on this site :( i'm glad you decided to "break the rules"...wish more people took chances on this site...i don't believe any lives are at stake ;)

i figured it out...as expected, you must have used a macro setting to shoot the macaroni.

nice old school feel. wish the stuff in the background was cooler...it reminds me of how stuff sucks today.

i viewed your submission directly before i viewed "sunset in the desert"...which i found to be fascinating, and made me appreciate each one a bit more as they seem to be completely diverse mindsets. It also made me think that there maybe too many sunset shots submitted here on dpc...i'm guilty as well ;) It also, also meant I had to come back and write this, so I hope it was helpful. - 8

yes...you've definitely transformed USP into another world...one of mystery and intrigue...i was unfortunately brought back to today's reality by the Met cap and that damn Swooshâ„¢. excellent contrasts...so a great b/w. I was going to say something about the letterbox and philosophical merit, and HCB farting dust...but what the hell do i know. I'm probably just bitter because I'm sitting at a 3.8 in this challenge ;) - 8

it took me a second to get the smile reference...maybe it would have been more apparent for slow folks like myself if all of the frowns were uncut. i'm left wondering if that quick drop off of focus could have been done outside of photoshop...and i'm afraid i don't know...that means the circle of confusion is still very confusing to me-9

professional shot. may i be so bold as to say you rotated it too far. I would have kept the main part of the highway parallel to the bottom edge - 8

you don't need a studio for a nice portrait, but you need a background that is a bit less distracting. i think this was a nice choice for b/w with the way the light is hitting her lapels.-8
