Great detail here, I couldnt work out what it was, I also at first thought it was an old tree stump with fungus growing on it. Youve done a great job on showing the texture here. Thumbs up to minimal editing.

I like the low angle here and the distortion. I also like the way the tree branches frame the shot almost acting like a vignette and drawing attention to the centre. Reminds me I must get out my wide angle lens, havent used it in a while but always enjoy it when I do.

Im finding the vignette a little overpowering, I do like the subject matter and the choice of a light vignette just not so bright.

Dark and spooky.. I like the overlays and processing very much, there is a definate atmosphere here. Im interested to know, did you have the verse in mind and created the image for the verse, or do you create the image and put a verse to it. Just wondering as I admire the foresight/imagination/creativity that goes into images like this. (something I seem to lack, but would love to possess)
