manmadeobject1.jpgby icu1965Comment: The combination of the newly painted tanker to the rusted locomotive provides a nice contrast. Consider using the track lines to somehow help bring the viewer's eye to an object of interest instead of just cutting across the photo. My personal impression is that the near track is taking my focus right off of the edge of the photo. |

Day 2 - Soft Whitenessby KelliComment: The white is spot on. I also like the sharp focus on the stamen leaving the front and rear edges of the flower slightly off the plane. |

Day 1 - Springing Forthby KelliComment: I like the contrast in lighting between the subject and the background. It really helps bring pop the flower out. |

Jazz Bassicsby BoobleComment: The darkness gives a nice nightlife sense to this image and the posture/facial expression capture the blues emotion.
BTW, what instrument is that. I thought guitars had six strings and basses had four. I don't think I have ever seen a 5-string. |

ready to flyby alliebealComment: Good use of brightness to get the most contrast in a monotone image. The focus is sharp and the DOF works well. This may even work with a centered composition. |

Old Timesby americandreamComment: Nice job capturing the texture of the wood. The weathered age feel of the texture goes well with the sepia tone. |

Out in the Coldby jodis_evaComment: Nice composition and good application of horizontal centering. I would have prefer more even lighting, especially in the bright background, but overall, it still works nicely. |

Hide & Seekby MAKComment: Excellent sharpness, excellent composition, excellent use of leading lines, excellent lighting, excellent color. The only problem I see is that it didn't come from my camera. |

The Moment of Truth!by slickshooterComment: Timing is everything. If you could have captured the ball in mid-air on its way to the catcher's mitt, it would have earned you at least 2 extra points, if not more. |

Are you game?by JudiComment: Nicely composed. I like the use of symmetry. It works well in this image. I am a bit confused as to why the front frosted pawn is (or at least appears to be) leaning forward. Perhaps a lens effect?
Oh, by the way, the knight and the rook of the clear pieces.... well... uhm.... I think you know. |
