Ballerina Dreams by njsabsComment: The center is wonderfully lit and the amount of soft focus is perfect. However, I am not too thrilled with the left and right edges. It doesn't seem to add anything to the photo to me. In fact, I see it more as a distraction rather than framing. Perhaps it is just too wide and needed more cropping. Then again, this is just one viewers opinion. |

Lily Of The Valleyby libertyComment: I love the background. Really helps the flowers stand out with the attention they deserve. |

Lady in Waiting by timfythetooComment: To sum up my impression in three words....
1) wow (This one is for the composition)
2) Wow (This one is for the perfect use of soft focus)
3) WOW (This one is for the amazing color, depth of field, lighting, and overall splendidness of the photograph)
I expect to see this on the front page next Wednesday. And in case you didn't figure it out.... 10! |

Mississippi risingby woolbr8stlComment: I like the chain in the bottom left. I didn't even notice it until it just seemed to jump out at me after a few seconds. |

She told him he'd regret itby Sam94720Comment: A story indeed. Somehow, I think the roles are reversed here however. I would imagine the guy walking down the street with a girl in a low cut shirt and knee high boots (ie, the fling) and the more conservatively sundress clad wife sitting on his smashed car with a hammer. Then again, I may be thinking of an entirely different story. But that aside, the composition and lighting are both very good. The puff of smoke is just icing on the cake. |

Byeby Rino63Comment: Not sure what the story is in this picture, however, I could easy see this photograph gracing the cover of a book. You clearly have a very creative eye. Well done. |

Making White Knuckle Turnsby boyd2000Comment: I really like the composition of this photograph. The cones bring my attention up and the exhaust line bring my attention left... in either case, right back to the plane. Very good use of leading lines. If the rudder wasn't obscured by one of the cones it could have been better. But something tells me the plane was moving rather quickly. |

John always wondered how the dog hair got in his beer.by BHusemanComment: Excellent lighting and amazing sharpness on the dog. The beer label, on the other hand, is a bit distracting to me. The glare is washing out some of the writing. Personally, any time there is writing in a photograph, my attention immediately goes to reading it. If it isn't clear, I spend time trying to interpolate the washed out parts (or focusing the blurry parts in other cases). In doing that, it takes a while for my attention to shift back to what the photographer really wanted to show me. In this photograph, when my attention shifted back, nothing but greatness. |
