I think you might get a better looking image if you allowed the shapes of each object to show. Also, perhaps a bit of sharpening? I do like the DOF though.

This looks like a picture taken accidentally from the inside of my pocket. If there was setup involved, wouldn't it be better to make sure to focus? *googling cyrano de Bergerac...*

Some pictures are like jokes, if you have to explain it, it kinda ruins it. In other words, maybe the image needs to give more explanation here.
