shadowlandby daisydavidComment: A great photo but I always associate impressionism with color. The Impressionists were excited by contemporary developments in color theory which helped their search for a more exact analysis of the effects of color and light in nature. |

untitledby bspurgeonComment: The focal point issue is not cast in stone.
Picasso first learned the rules of art then he slowly and systematically explored all the ways to break them.
In this great image, the movement of the water and steam is spectacular and I stare at the dead center of the image.
As a PS, I tend to like a lot, when well done, the perfect symmetrical compositions.

Joey L.by librodoComment: I marked this picture high without ever thinking that "The Librodo" himself will participate (not the highest mark, but the 11th the way it appears when I order the photos by my marks - and the same mark as 7 other pictures).
I was pretty sure though that I wrote in my comment something that does not appear, or did I drop it by mistake(?):
I wished that a touch of his forehead was cropped, something like 1/8" of the way the photo appears on the screen!
The fact that it was scored 40 out of over 90 makes me ponder over the elusive reasoning of the vote of the majority in the ARTS.
There were plenty of really authentic photos that I found exceptional and in this respect superior to the Joey L picture.
I will try to go deeply into this for my own benefit, but as I look now and arrived at this image that I liked a lot, I have to say that we shall never underestimate the power of a free lunch or a beautiful woman, a pretty pose with promising eyes or optimistic colors.
