Ground tiedby snafflesComment: This is the first image to pop when I start looking at the challenge and absorbed me completely. It set the tone. So little fuss, just some blur and curves and we get to weave an entire story. First page stuff. |

tempestby patagoniaComment: A little undefined. Wish you had some detail in the foreground. |

The Autumn Keeperby rooumComment: I keep looking at this picture and I appreciate the great work and idea.
But there is something that repels me so much. And it has to do with the expression of the statue, with the treatment of its left eye and nose. When I cover the right side of the image it's so much better.
It's a very personal opinion or idiosyncrasy of mine.
Remains though a great image. |

the flesh splatterby rodgers_leComment: Another spectacularly skillful picture but so post Dali-esque that IMHO it falls into a too much seen and exploited image. Very impressive work though. |

Cottingley fairiesby JudiComment: So much good technical work here but the image is an illustration that I do not find particularly novel. |

Spleen (IV) by gyabanComment: A lot of skillful work here but so slick and so illustrative that it really falls into the deja vu images.
Masterly work though. |

Airstream Ranchby wetlandComment: The sky here got its money worth!
But a very interesting and well planned image. |

Daphne and Apolloby posthumousComment: A lovely image.
But as the story goes, I am not surprised that Apollo fell in love with irresistible Daphne, but he is supposed to be a real kuros, as beautiful and bright as sunlight and here he is a sort of unskillful, stocky and graceless man. Independently of the myth, I still mind the left figure (especially his left leg and hand). Should have melted in the foliage more.
Nevertheless, it is a first page picture. |
