You might have alternately considered a bit of a crop at the top, just above the hairline, which would have emphasized the face more, and also been in sync with the close side crop.

"Toeing" the Line

Nicely done Daniel. Ouch on the score though! I didn't vote but I think it meets the challenge well, and I like the composition of her on the rail and the way her position contributes to the leading lines. One thing I do think might be better is to crop the top landing, leaving just the railing, stairs, and her. It accentuates the geometry more, though the picture as is may tell more of a story. Great timing, great shot. I think it would be nice to try using shadow/highlight recovery on this one, unless you intentionally wanted the sillouette. But I think seeing some facial detail here, even a little more, would make it even better.

You're welcome. Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing this one until just now when I wanted to see what you've been up to and I went through your portfolio (of course, I may have seen it but forgotten--I'm getting old)! This is a beautiful crop, so it's in my favorites now.
