on a cloudy dayby skewsmeComment: Outstanding pastel coloration and vintage textural interest for the bokeh. I briefly considered submitting a butterfly image myself, and this one makes me glad I didn't. :-) |

Yucca by NeatComment: A difficult shot to get right, gorgeously realized--right down to the tiniest detail. |

The Weeper by PennyStreetComment: Oh man...if only this was a "hidden faces" challenge...this would be a Blue for sure. I'll be interested to see how it fares in the ratings, but I love it. :-) |

Woven for lifeby primabarbaraComment: Sometimes the most useful things come out of last-minute, improvised experiments. The textural interest here is undeniable, and the color grading truly works for me. For what it is, this is considerably more artful than a "throwaway" shot. :-) |

seasonby TiberiusComment: I rather enjoy this submission. Wasn't sure how it would place, but just wanted to say it connected with me, and I find it artfully understated. Feels like a very "useful" composition as a creative asset in stock photography scenarios--something organic, rustic-chic, etc. |

the dreamery by skewsmeComment: My top choice this challenge. Gorgeous and emotionally compelling in an ephemeral sort of way. Like a photo of a feeling more than anything so concrete as a flower head. And the shallow DOF contributes mightily to that effect. |

Singled Outby markwileyComment: It's rare that a centered flower composition speaks to me as boldly as this one does. Nice work! |

so proud!by PennyStreetComment: The use of diagonals in tandem with the shallow DOF here is quite effective. Great capture! |

Argyanthemum - Raspberry Iceby jomariComment: I love the painterly treatment of this image, along with the color grading and compositional choices. I also dig the textural canvas-like effect, though for me it reduces the sense of depth and makes this register more like a tactile two-dimensional print than an immersive scene. Not a criticism. Just an observation. |
