Don't look a Giraffe in the Mouth

Cute idea, but the shot itself is a little bland. Some other ideas to execute on the concept: actually looking into a giraffe's open mouth, a wide-angle shot of a giraffe trying to lick the camera, etc. I know these aren't easy shots to get, but the thing is that this shot could be any old snapshot from a trip to the zoo.

I like the rim lighting and the expression on her face. The aperture seems very well chosen to keep both her face and the cake relatively sharp while blurring her shoulders more. I think her face could be brighter, and the thing on the left (can't tell if it's a chair or maybe a low-hanging picture frame or what) shouldn't be there.

I like the lighting, sharpness, and the use of black to frame the subjects. I don't think it works well conceptually, though, because the image itself seems to speak more about dirtiness and the sort of animalistic sensuality connoted by it than it does about water.

Nice dramatic light, which does give it that creepy feel you're going for. I feel like there should be another element in the photo to raise the stakes as far as the scene is concerned.

This isn't a technically perfect image, but I find it compelling all the same. I love the expression on her face, how it really communicates the feeling of frustration and determination. And I like the way her hands look purposeful. Technique-wise, I think her face should be lit better and the background should either be darker or blurred out with a wider aperture. So, well done on the subject and story, and keep at it with the technique.

Not sure about this. The whole thing is a little too dim and soft to give much idea about why it's important to see what's in the image, but at the same time the basket is too recognizable for this to work as an abstract. I also don't get what it has to do with the title.

Given the high-key effect you're going for here, I think this would have worked better if the ground were also part of that invisible whiteness, to really isolate the cake, knife, and crumbs. Otherwise, pretty good.

This image is very well executed--great lighting, beautiful model, interesting location, good composition. However, I feel that the juxtaposition of the title and the image doesn't work. You have this beautiful, graceful model, but the only way it meshes with the title is in the word "ass," which kind of cheapens it, I think.

Nice composition, strong lines. The glow at the front of the column is particularly good. I'd like the sky to be a bit more dramatic.

Beautiful scene. I like the composition a lot--nice layers and depth. I find myself wishing the foreground and sky were brighter, but even so it's very pleasant.
