Falconby hawkidaComment: Looks like the cloudy sky fooled your camera's exposure. this needs to be brightened by a minimum of two stops. Too bad too, cuz the the crop and composition are quite good. |

Dinner Securedby jbsmithanaComment: Superb action shot, but colours are weak. Could have benefited from a little more brightness and contrast. |

Watchful Eyeby 4scoreComment: Looks like the camera focussed on the left wing/shoulder of the bird and not on the bird's eye. Remember that depth of field is very small when working close with stronger telephoto lenses. Using a lens at 300mm at f/5.6 with a 1.6x DSLR crop factor at a working distance of 6 ft creates a depth of field of only 0.2 inches (5mm). The colours are very good on this shot. |

Night Owlby SteveinnzComment: I find the overall image a bit too dark and the eyes way too dark. They need to be lightened as they are the image's major focal point. The more I look at it, the more it looks like a partial desaturation job. Either with colour of partial desat., you need to bring out those beautiful eyes more by intensifying their colour and brightening them up. |
