Tinaby VBesterComment: Fantastic lighting and great exposure. Glad you kept some texture in the skin and didnt soften it too much. Face is beautifully sharp without being unflattering. |

Broken Homeby JSRComment: Yes that certainly is a broken home.
The exposure looks very well controlled but the composition feels a bit bottom heavy to me. There is a lot of sky and the horizon is almost dead in the middle of the shot. Would work much better for me by cropping off a chunk of sky just above the clouds on the top. |

Still Lifeby izadoodleComment: A still life by someone that looks like they know what they are doing with light. Not the most interesting subjects but the light is used well to capture all the different surfaces from the smooth vase to the slightly textured pear. Exposure is spot on to show just a hint of texture in the wooden surface too! Well done |

Morning Surfby phiggins24Comment: I can see that you tried to include some foreground interest so that is a good thing. The horizon is smack bang in the middle of the shot so it feels like it cuts the picture in half. |

Black Riverby essayComment: Probably marbo. A lovely scene and captures the beauty of IR nicely with the dark sky and bright foliage with black water too.
The comp is good and the eye gets led on a journey through the pic up the stream along the banks and onto the nice pink / red coloured tree on the far bank and onto the nice swirling cloud sin the sky.
Thanks for the lovely entry! |

Quiet Concentration, Survivorsby cryanComment: You captured the expressions on the faces wonderfully! The border may be a bit strong and heavy for this shot - I would rather see a bigger shot with more detail. |

Olgaby Joker1114Comment: A very nice portrait and good comp. The eyes may be a tiny bit over-processed but it is not glaringly so. |

The Summitby HarveyGComment: Now that I know which one is yours Harvey... (not voting)
Nice comp and clarity with good DOF control. DOF helps to isolate the subject nicely but it looks like there might be a bit of noise creeping in?
Would love to have seen some more detail in the dark underside but being in shadow and knowing the light from above makes it almost impossible I think you did ok.
Here's looking at you Kid! |

Old Court Houseby bobccComment: Not generally a fan of heavy HDR work but I assume it alsmost has to be done here. I can imagine there must be a huge difference in stops of light from bright to dark.
I love the feeling you get as you start at the bottom and look up and then you have to lift your head a bit more to see the very top and it almost feels like you are looking a bit behind you coz you have gone so far.
Comp is fantastic |
