Just chill by JulietNNComment: My only 10 in this challenge! You nailed the theme. This one works better than other images because your subject stands out in 2 ways. Both due to depth of field and difference in color/shape. Great work and good luck! |

An Orchid Curlsby colorcarnivalComment: Great flow in the shape of this flower. Nice processing on this too. I may be wrong but I see some (strong blue) chromatic aberration in the upper left of the flower which might take away from the perfection of this picture. Still great. 8! |

Freshhh! by h2Comment: I gave this an 8 but I didn't think this entry would do as well as it did mainly because it doesn't have enough depth of field for the top of the bottle and it stood out to me as a flaw and I was wondering what the reasoning for this was. It looks like the majority of people liked it and that is all that matters. Congratulations!
Just read your description. I guess having those FlexTT5 pocketwizards which allow you to shoot with high-speed sync would have solved your depth of field problem yet giving you sharp splashes. Message edited by author 2011-03-23 16:45:26. |

A Bright Spot in the Storm by sjhulsComment: This is such a difficult challenge to vote in. In my mind when I hear the word focus I am thinking depth of field has to play a role otherwise how else do we know what the camera has really focused on. This picture is great for a challenge like "Point of Color" and it would have gotten a 9 from me (not 10 because I am not too crazy about the processing style), however I realize that there are many interpretations of this whole focal point thing. In this image everything is in focus and your subject stands out due to significant difference in color compared to the rest of the image not due to it being in focus and the rest of the image not being in focus and because of that my eyes do travel all over the picture and doesn't rest just on your main subject. Very difficult challenge to shoot for and vote in due to various interpretations of the theme. I just gave you my interpretation. Also the bright white snow and the clouds in the background are another reasons that the viewer's eyes are not let to rest on your main subject (those whites keep pulling my eyes away too). I am giving this a 7. Good luck. It should do well. (This is the longest comment I have written for somebody since I joined DPC) |

The last drop of water by IreneMComment: Missed having you around. Miss your work. You picked up where you left off. You made a very ordinary subject look incredible. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully you will get back to doing what you love doing best soon. Keep clicking! |
