I think this is a really great idea, I would have changed the background or the lighting to try to put more focus on the object within the ball. As it is right now, I see too much of the table cover. Also would have rated higher if the hand and the object within the ball were more in focuse

Would have voted higher if I could see the bottle top in full color and the lighting moved to where the shadow isn't drawing attention away to the right edge of the picture. I'd also change background color to something solid and either B/W or a complementary color to the red.

Overall, I like the idea.

Nice idea, but I would have rated higher if the lighting weren't as harsh. Possibly tighten the shot to include just the calculator, pen, eraser leaving the pad of paper as the background.

Love the composition, lighting, and DoF. 9 - I would have voted 10 if it didn't seem like the light source was pointed at the diagram in the book (or maybe my monitor is acting weird). The change in lighting intensity there takes my eye away from the ruler. Maybe that was the whole point of the shot and I missed it, so please bear with my photographic n00bness.

I like the composition, but the current lighting and background make the tool, soil and even the plant seem a bit too dark.

I would have voted higher if the lighting in front was stronger than the back or overhead lighting (or maybe a black background with a spotlight?).
