.38 Specialby greenem2Comment: Can't say that the subject matter does much for me, though it does cause something of an emotional reaction. However, it's truly a beautiful shot -- nice use of DOF and the green tone really seems to fit. Kudos. |

Dinner Timeby JEMComment: Cool subject -- not what I would think to see at a hummingbird feeder. I'm surprised at the little bit of blur since it looks like you shot with a flash. That's about the only thing I can think that would help -- a sharper image. |

Oct. Sunby DianaComment: I'm one of those who feels this doesn't fit the challenge since the _only_ light I see in this pic is the sun, and that' not artificial in my book. Sorry. |

Setting Sunby BitzComment: Nice subject choice, with a gorgeous, very complimentary background. I'm not sure if the shadows from the tree (?) outside help or hinder. The outer, dark margins to the right and left seem unnecessary to me. I think I would have consider shooting this as a vertical (or cropping to that). Nevertheless, a very nice shot. |

Panache by KarenBComment: Pretty, pretty picture. I love the bright white of her dress, and her skins tones look good, but the rest of the levels seem a little dark (especially the grass). I also think this one would be good for a really large depth of field (small aperture, big F#) so that everything was in a sharp focus. The downside of that is a longer shutter speed -- if it was windy, it wouldn't work because everything would be blurry for other reasons. Anyway, good capture. |

Bottle Rocketby Frank BeckmanComment: Fun use of a long shutter speed. Great sense of energy. The weird thing is, for me, it looks like all the sparks are getting sucked into the bottle. If I'm gonna be picky, I wish the arm wasn't blurred -- maybe propping it on something to reduce that a little? Great shot. |

Workoutby NitenComment: Who says "busy" pics can't work. The lines and angles in this are great. B&W was perfect (but a sepia tone might work well too). |

Nicholasby basia03Comment: Interesting expression and composition. The focus and grain on this one doesn't help though, I don't think. The logo on the shirt also has a bit too much of a presence in this picture. |

Fireside Anguishby sulamkComment: I'm sorry, but this just doesn't work for me. I'm guessing it's a macro of a small statue in some strange lighting. It's just not sharp enough for me and I can't really say I like the cropping -- way to close to the eyes with not enough of the torso really visible. |

NO! Don't Do It!!by CreativeFlyPhotoComment: Nice B&W. Great range of tones (even if maybe a LITTLE too dark, but I think it works). Perfect expression. Doesn't make me want to laugh like some of the others this week because this looks "straight" and not posed -- like you actually caught someone in the act of being frightened. |
