Didn't get a chance to comment during the challenge, but wanted to say that I gave you a 6. I felt the third image was out of place there. the light color of the ground made the tryp feel unbalanced to me. Putting it in the center would have evened the whole thing up for me.

Since you posted in the Free Study Scores Thread I thought I would run through and comment. :-) I gave you a 5. This is an average shot IMO. I would have liked to see more of his hair to complete the look. I don't agree with the flash comment in regards to the shadows. I just think it is just a little bright for the look he has going. Overall, he is a very photogenic person and I love the make-up. Of course, I like the whole Goth look to begin with.

If you're going to title it natural, lose the clothes completely. It feels anything but natural to have it look like she is holding open her shirt. Otherwise, the composition and lighting are good.

LOL I feel his/her pain. On one hand I think the light is a bit harsh. On the other, when I picture the shot without it I think it would lose some of its appeal.

I think I know what you were going for, but the shot is too centered. Moving the "sanctuary" higher in the frame would help make it feel further away and more like a safe haven. I also think it is a little dark.
