Comfortable shoesby MelethiaComment: Lovely image and I second Love's love comments about the colors. He looks so relaxed but the "set" of his ears seem to suggest that he is still very much alert to all that is going on around him! |

Emergency toolby Rino63Comment: Took me a while to realize this was a walnut! The title refers to the wrench, however, it's the walnut that really dominates the image. Maybe use of side lighting rather than overhead lighting would have shifted attention onto both, provided there was sufficient DOF. |

Fieldbound Skiffby Bear_MusicComment: Lovely textures on the boat! I like how the yellow/orange hue in some of the grasses is picked up on the boat in the areas of rust/decay. Also the brightness of the boat against a dark sky. Great perspective. Abstaining from voting. |

Observation deckby MelethiaComment: Deb, I love what you have done with this, bringing out the textures and details. To my eye the processing really helps separate the four figures in the foreground from the other figures. I like how the yellow knitted hat/beret really *pops* against the overcast sky and the woman's dark hair in this version. I also like the shallow *arc* formed if you follow the tops of the heads of the four people in the foreground, up and then down, and how this echos the arcs formed by the shape of the setting. |

Breaking Freeby BalkoComment: I love it, somehow it's both calming yet stimulating at the same time! |

Psychedelic Shoesby turnofthesueComment: I especially love the textures in the red and white shoes that appear to be almost floating... and I have fond memories of visiting Georgetown when I lived *up the road* from there in Baltimore for many years!! |

lowby timfythetooComment: Very effective positioning of his arms and use of side lighting. The subdued reflections of the lighted areas add to the composition while also revealing details of the table surface. An excellent image that also tells a story. |

Meet Penny_Weaverby Bear_MusicComment: Originally posted by colorcarnival: Tell her she has great skin! :) Love the soft light and I also love that she seems totally comfortable with you taking her picture. What a lovely smile :) |
Thanks for the above comments colorcarnival. I normally do not enjoy having my picture taken so it's definitely kudos to you, Bear_Music, for that capture! Having resigned myself to the fact that I was not going to be able to avoid it I decided that I might as well smile, or should that be "grin and bear it!"
