Franklin Deluxe Rotary - Circa 1938by KelliComment: Gorgeous. Great DOF and processing and wonderfully embodying the relationship between form and function. These old sewing machines are wonderfully sturdy aren't they. I recently had a chance to use Bear_music's grandmother's machine while staying at his sister's house, and that was a treat. I was actually glad that running out of time to complete my sewing task before the trip led to that opportunity. I especially love the detail of the bits of lint, highlighted so well in this back/side lighting. |

Framedby bergiekatComment: I could be picky and say that what actually makes this a "powerful" shot is repetition, perspective, and leading lines. But the right angles help! |

baitby dragonladyComment: Absolutely wonderful. I gave this a 10 (earlier) which I rarely do. Just had to come back and look at it again. Great processing. |

on the pitchby bspurgeonComment: Hmmm. Is that a cricket ball on the right? Lovely tones and capture of movement, whatever it is. |

Big Brotherby sfmorrisComment: Love the entwining of arms, the boy's expression, the tonal range. The two heads "just" touching. This exudes calmness. Wonderful. |

Falconby izadoodleComment: Lovely tones, with great detail, while keeping an overall "softer" feel to the image that I like. |

The Gatheringby jagarComment: This is lovely. Great tonal range and lines. My eye is drawn in to the picture beautifully. I fluctuate on whether I think the cat adds or detracts (the white in the cat's coat being the brightest spot in the image, grabs my eye). The leaves seem a bit unsharp/out of focus, but provide the desired effect none the less. |

A Study of Intimacyby melodicgraceComment: Lovely. Great choice of background for this excellent shot. I'm a bit confused by the title, unless you are doing a series of studies, and even then the emotion I feel conveyed here is not intimacy. The hands in particular, and also the facial expression, to me convey a feeling of insecurity rather than intimacy. Love the Celtic coloring of hair/eyes, and how you picked this up in the dress and background. |
