Cliff Hangersby OnieComment: Hmm... the image quality is a bit low, but the composition is very effective. I'd like some more contrast, I think. Otherwise, it's a very nice photo. |

Self Serviceby SwashbucklerComment: It's cool that this is legal, and it's a great exploration of the challenge topic, but I don't think it's an attractive image. |

Sunsetby nards656Comment: I love this one! One of the best tree photos in the bunch. The filagree of trunk, branches and twigs is divine, and the steely grey/blue colour of the sky sets it off beautifully. One of my 10s. |

Prairie Sunset by SonifoComment: Beatuiful colours! The silhouette of the grass is very nice. There's a great sense of scale to this photo. I can imagine it will be popular, maybe even place in the to 10. Nice work. |

Where The Sun Goes Downby greenem2Comment: The lone tree in this shot isn't interesting enough to lift the photo. It seems empty, flat and static. A closer crop of the tree might have been nicer. |

Dead Woodby LanSnakeComment: I love the colours in this, and the gnarled, silhouetted shape of the tree. The central composition works here. It may be a little bit underexposed, but nonetheless a nice photo. |

frost flowersby kenboComment: Hmm... I like this, it's cool. However, it needs some tonal depth. The darkest tones are too light. It's easy to do that, just adjust the levels in photoshop, or your favourite processing software. Even brightness/contrast will do it. If it doesn't look too light to you, it may be your monitor. Check the squares along the bottom of the voting pages to see how many you can distinguish. |

Juniperus Virginianaby AnachroniteComment: Great composition. The berries all seem to explode from a central point. The colours are also very rich. DOF is just right to distinguish this bunch of berries from its background. A very good photo. |

Prickly Pearby goodtempoComment: Fairly nice composition, but the contrast is a bit too low. The photo seems washed out, with very harsh sunlight. Obviously, in the kinds of climates you find prickly pears growing, you will have strong sunlight to deal with, but photographing the subject in the dawn or dusk light would help this a bit. The shadows make this look like late afternoon or mid morning, times when the light will still be harsh. |
