C O M M I T T E Dby Art RoflmaoComment: Very nice -- I had to find something to stand in for a straightjacket when I shot something similar. I shan't inquire as to how you happen to possess such an object ... ;-) |

Above St. Elmo #1by pmichaudComment: Nice story -- from the thumbnail I first thought someone had built a cool house with slanting windows ... :-) |

Shell Borderby JuliBocComment: I like the way this one came out, without too much "stuff" near the top. |

Shells Medallionby JuliBocComment: I like the design ... I'd probably play with the contrast a bit to brighten it, but that's just me. |

Boots from a Snowstormby SprogComment: You will find that the typical DPC voter is not fond of the technique of reducing the number of colors/shades to two or three (called Posterization), though it is a common processing technique (there's even a separate command for it in Photoshop) used, especially in advertising, to give a photo the look of an illustration.
I think the effect works well for your subject, isolating the three compositional elements (bare floor, snowdrift, and boots) beautifully.
I applaud you for submitting what you liked regardless of the possible consequences in terms of votes. I think you will have more fun if you continue to do so. |

Thoughtlessby MinsoPhotoComment: Has that "Impressionistic painting" feel to it (even more so in the thumbnail view!) -- glad at least a few people appreciate it! Message edited by author 2011-03-02 13:49:10. |
