I can't vote, but wanted to look through this challenge for inspiration. I like this for the lighting, the hard light and shadows. I like the hood as a "prop." This portrait has a sense of drama and tension. Perfect portrait for this eyes closed challenge. As a viewer, I can imagine or wonder all sorts of stories this portrait portrays.

I really don't peruse the member challenges as much since I can't vote on them. With that said, yours would have been my top pick. It's gritty and really reminds me of a Mary Ellen Mark image from what I've seen of her work. Everything hits the mark for me. Your oldest really has that attitude look; props to her.

There were a few that stood out for me, but this one made me think "whoa."
