I like this as a street portrait, but I don't have context to who he is, why you took a photo of him. At least in the confines of this challenge. As such, I gave you a 6. If this were a portrait challenge, I would have rated it higher.

One of my top picks. Shows the story of two generations doing what they need to do; mom working, daughter working on homework. At least thats the story I read into it.

My top pick. Photo captures the guy's intensity. Seems like he is concentrating on something (is he an artist focusing on his next project... I don't know, but makes me want to know more about him).

The drainage/brick line lead us to the other people in the background seemingly going about their business, juxtaposes with the main subject.

Can't vote, but looking through this challenge for inspiration. I like this portrait because it looks for natural, not forced as far as having the eyes closed. I like the lighting, very soft. I also like the lighting that hits her shoulder, gives it nice depth. This portrait makes me wonder what she's thinking, reminiscing about... This portrait is telling a story...
