Blue skies and pretty flowers on a spring day!by tolovemoonComment: The light is rather harsh; placing a piece of paper below the camera to bounce some light back onto the near side of the flowers would have helped quite a bit, but you probably would have had better results if this wasn't done so close to noon. I find the leaves in the bottom left corner distracting. |

Davyby TallblokeComment: The contrast works well here. I think that I would have preferred to see this framed horizontally rather than vertically. |

Submerged Afloatby OlyuziComment: Without the title I may not have even figured out what this was. The ripples in the water look blocky; I imagine that if you fiddled with the settings for awhile longer you could reduce the compression and still stay under the file size restriction.

Piece of fireby vasilkovayaComment: Excellent shot. Is this the flower's real color? My only criticism is that there are a few dents in the top two petals which I find a little bit distracting. |

Reaching Nowhereby arnitComment: I really like this composition; the yellow mile markers do a nice job of framing the image and accentuating the depth of the scene. The figure would be easier to see if he didn't blend in with the mountain in the background, but I imagine that the mountain was unwilling to move. Perhaps it would help if the model were wearing a different color of clothing. |

Searching For Momby SchuffComment: The light here is a little harsh, and the dynamic range of the scene is a bit more than your camera can handle. I realize that small rabbits can be quite skittish, but a fill flash or something to bounce some light onto the near side of the rabbit would have helped to even out the illumination. The B&W really brings out the textures in the scene.

Shadow of a Handby theSajComment: The horizon is level or darn close to it, but something about this composition makes it look tilted to the left. I like the shadow idea, but in minimalism there's so little to look at that everything has to work well, and somehow this doesn't feel right. Maybe it's the oddly parted fingers or the angle of the arm. Placing the focal point in the center of the frame divides it in half and makes me focus on the sides of the image (which contain slightly dirty tiles) rather than the shadow. Given the grid-like background, you probably should try to keep the shadows either as linear as possible (echoing the background) or as non-linear as possible (to be complemented by the background). Given the bland color of the tiles you might have been better off going to B&W or throwing in a flower or something as an isolated spot of color.

minimalism ruinsby anatolio25Comment: This looks like it's been processed to death. If it starts out so fuzzy that it takes this much USM to make it sharp you might be better off trying to make the blur look intentional / artistic. The colors look rather washed-out / overexposed / under-saturated. I think that the composition in general is good; all of the elements seem to direct my attention to the stone arch on the right. Had the rules allowed it, giving that some kind of special treatment in post-processing (making it pitch black to add an air of mystery, etc.) would have enhanced the image.
