The Darkness After Tomorrowby Another_StatisticComment: This prompted several views because there was something that just didn't connect. It still doesn't connect, but it's a great image anyway. Very well controlled lighting, the subject is properly exposed, nice vagueish fade to black - it's a really good image, but this reviewer just can't put the feeling aside that there is something wrong that impacts the image negatively. That being said, it's nothing obvious and the fair thing to do is to rate it accordingly. Well done. |

Great Gatsby by Darkby alexzenComment: A beautiful image and while a little more modern that a classical Gatsby scene, it certainly captures the feeling of Fitzgerald's era. Opulence is always something we both envy and admire at the same time. Crisp and sharp, this is a very effective image and relavant to the times in which we live. Very well done from both a technical and artistic standpoint. |

Consolationby RKTComment: A very surrealistic construct worthy of any of the post-industrial schools of neo-realism. Precise and sharp, it's almost like a pencil drawing and/or charcoal on adobe or plaster. Very impressive technique wise, it's a technical and artistic marvel. A top entry into the challenge. |

Night Life in Malaccaby soonComment: Perfect motion capture on the ferris wheel, rich in detail and color. The slightly over done whites are not a negative and in fact actually help the image by giving some idea of the level of dark. A very interesting flare effect in the spotlight midway on the right side of the image - a very intriguing visual effect. Agood entry into the challenge. |

Maul...by ConnorComment: A purely movie poster style image that is dramatic and powerful - a portrait of a unconventional scifi character, George Lucas would have been proud to own this as a print. Might not appeal to the average viewer, but to this reviewer it's a very good homage to the scifi genre. Well done. |

From the darkness comes....Mad Mushrooms!by ReinerComment: Love it - absoutely love it. Humor, whimsey, perfectly composed from a technical standpoint and has significant humor and artistic impact not often seen in these challenges. A standing ovation for a very clever and unigue challenge submission. Well done. |

Crepuscular Critterby bspurgeonComment: First what is really an afterthought - a very good title that may have been misunderstood by the general viewer - it could be viewed as too clever by half crepuscular being a term used by almost exclusively emtomologists. :>) That being said, the title exactly matches the subject and is a very good macro shot in difficult lighting conditions. The vaguely detailed background is a perfect compliment to the subject and the entire image is very effective. Well done. |

A Night on the Beachby scooter88Comment: This is a great concept that falls just shy of having major impact on the viewer. For future reference, this could be made much better by using a layer approach exposing the sky more to gain an impression of depth and dimension in addition to increasing the drama of a night beach conversation. Still a very good impression is given even with the slightly over done lanterns. Another approach might have been to concentrate on the subject with a closer in look at a reduced exposure time or aperature. Very nice concept. |

Hiding in the darkby GemGemComment: Very reminiscent of Lorenzo Costa a Renaissance painter of the Ferrara School. His images, while not exactly in the vein of this image, certainly conveyed the same impression that this image conveys. A beautiful composition and portrait of a stage of life that sometimes becomes over whelming. Very effective and powerful. By rights, a top ten image if not a ribbon winner. Well done. |
