Comment:
While the image is perfectly level, the impression of it being off level and a trapazoid is very strong. While this may, or may not, be an issue to some viewers, it certainly makes the image more interesting. A very simple construction to this composition is impressive and the sense of distance in the back ground wall is rather startling. Pleasing and complimentary colors, simple and effective subject matter, this should score fairly high.

A very intersting drop shadow effect that works well with the rich tones and textures of the background and subject. A lot of very subtle touches in this image that create a very effective and favorable artistic impression. One has to wonder if a diffrent angle would have increased the shadow effect or ruined it - might be worth experimenting with sometime in the future.

This image relies too much on the emergence from the dark to create tension and drama. A little bit of fill light to reduce the contrasty effect created by the blank window would have helped create a more favorable impression. While the author's intent is clear, it just doesn't feel "right".

Very curious sense of depth and detail - very effective treatment with the blank window space and feature less wall. An odd viewpoint which works well in context with the impression given. A little too tall, the effect of looking down into a V shape isn't as strong as it would be if the dividing line were at exactly half of the image. Still, a very intriguing effect. The monotone treatment is also effective and while that chair highlights are a little over done, the image as a whole works very well.

A very post modern feel to this - abstract without being over done, dramatic use of lighting and grain and a very interesting outlining technique allowing for a very "oriental" feel to the image - very similar to the Chinese symbol for grain in fact. No technicl issues to speak of and a very favorable artistic impression. Well done.

While technically competant, there is way too much flower from a perspective standpoint to be truly effective. Given the angle of the capture, the flower flowers tend to overpower the subject and while it does enhance the depth perception and gives the image a 3D feel, it's just not that interesting.

The chairs and table disappear into the detailed wall - the eye has to search around to find the subject instead of being immediately attracted to it. Given it's rather bland color obscured positioning the subject fails to attract an interest.

A technically competant image that just fails to provoke any sort of wow factor or pop. While the colors are complimentary, the subject is just uninteresting and does not invite the viewer to stay and while and look around.

Pleasing sweeping lines and curves, almost abstract in concept - a very natural and effective image. Nothing is technically wrong or remarkable and this extends to it's artistic impression. One sometimes wants to see detail in the elements of the photo rather than smooth featureless elements, but this works for it's elegance. Well done.

Lazy on a Sunday afternoon

An enjoyable image reflecting the very nature of a lazy Sunday. Very competant conversion to black and white - successful from an artistic standpoint. Perhaps a little better focus/DOF control would have helped the favorable impression sufficiently to boost it's changes to be a top ten image. Still, a very worthy entry into the challenge.
