I like how the thumbnail seems oldie-worldy and then the full image brings us bang up to date.

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 8s - I like it. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. The high contrast margins of the image with the sparkling specular highlights.
2. The sense of mist.
3. The heptagonal nested flares - like cobwebs.
4. The happy dog!
5. The radial pattern of light and shade.

Very interesting shot.

1. Landscapes don't often make it into this comment series but I love the use of blur here.
2. I really enjoy the limited colour palette here - yellow, brown and hints of green.
3. Great sense of depth.
4. Really effective centred POV.
5. Those rolls in the field.

Really lovely shot.

This is one of my 9s - I like it a lot. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. Love the grain here
2. Great choice of tone.
3. The blurry foot giving a sense of dynamism.
4 The 'open 7 days...' sign.
5. Your timing - giving us a perfect portrait profile.
6. The style of your subject.

Lovely stuff.

1. The sense of a transient moment - I feel this would look completely different in just a few seconds.
2. The muted coloration - easy to be seduced by a monochrome treatment here. I'm glad you resisted.
3. The pretty flares.
4. The pedestrian peril!
5. The guy in the white shirt and how he seems to be watching you.
6. The elbow and bag.
7. The sense of the city around us.

Really enjoyable shot.

A really interesting portrait.

1. Great use of monochrome with perfect toning.
2. Really superb lighting (A single light?)
3. Great contrast handling; look how we can still see the sides of his legs despite the deep shadows.
4. Great 'poses' - I've seen a ton of model work and never come across this configuration before.
5. Great subjects demonstrating a great connection.

What a high impact portrait. Great stuff.
