Brain Damageby gyabanComment: Great idea but if I'm honest this doesn't look as polished as your stuff. Having said that, this still goes above and beyond in terms of dedication. |

I love the colours and the processing here but the clipped pedal bothered me too much to overlook. Back to bump. I was too mean. |

I think being all-Librodo'd-out has meant an image like that gets a tough gig in this Free Study. Couple that with the over-softened skin and I begin to struggle to give this a higher score. De-soften the mouth and the tip of the nose, add more contrast and cool the colour temperature and I think you'd have something with a great deal more drama. Clearly, this is competent portrait work but for me I think the edit is a bit too in-your-face. |

I like the idea behind this but the overall balance of the composition seems a bit off and the cropped hand and hair seem unnecessary. Also, I found the lighting is very flat. Investing in something like Viveza 2 would give you a bunch options to add a bit more depth to this. |

A well executed image that offers up a slice of agricultural reality. However, for me, the good execution and the honestry of the scene don't add up to something that holds my interest. The shot seems to be taken rather than chosen. Does that make sense? |

This is a nice flower image - I really like how well you've filled the frame but there are a few things that bothered me about it. I really like the round bokeh but that wide open lens has caused some chromatic aberration that was probably correctable, even if just through desaturation of cyan.
I do enjoy the focus on the stem but that prominent blurred petal that is enface probably hurts the image a little - I think a quick pluck of that wouldn't have gone amiss.
Overall, a nice idea but for me, executed with a couple of niggles. |

I'm not a fan of images of objects and as such you were always up against it for my vote. I am a fan of your lighting here though - I think that adds quite a lot more interest than there might have otherwise been. Looks like it could be a pre-digital radiology light box.
In the end though - although this is a good idea, meets the challenge and is well executed, it isn't beautiful as an image or intriguing or confounding in any way. Much of this is the fault of the challenge rather than your response to it, but nonetheless there's little here to hold me.
If it helps, my average score given for this challenge was quite a bit lower than the 5 I've dished out here. |

This photo is clearly well executed and does a good job at meeting the challenge. However, I think it does lack depth and the intrinsic interest level of matches isn't that high. I do like the way you've used the border as a shelf though.
Overall, there's certainly nothing wrong with this image, I think you've made a fine job of it; it's just that the final result doesn't leave me with anything.
It has to be said though, this isn't the most inspiring challenge. In fact my average score given in this challenge is much less than 5. |
