I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Great domestic scene offering up an engaging slice slice of life. The contrast between the internal adult silhouette and the outdoor child works really well.

Critical stuff: I can't help thinking that this might be better in a monochrome rendition.

Overall: Nicely seen and composed.

Positives: As a lapsed geologist, I really enjoy this image, the illusion of a fossil within strata is highly effective - made more so by your choice of aspect ratio. The communication of texture is excellent and this is emphasised by the lack of colour.

Critical stuff: I suppose it lacks a bit of depth but that's really part of its charm.

Overall: Very well constructed.

Positives: Standout coloration and a great composition - the looming sign is actually rather jolly and the overall clarity of the image is superb. There is so much to engage the eye here and I keep discovering things like the two people at the top of the steps...

Critical stuff: Not really.

Overall: A very enjoyable transportive image.
