honey berry by colorcarnivalComment: Pristine. Well done on the ribbon. I'm not sure I've ever seen the top three match the respective ribbon colours before. |

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. The technical quality of the image - its crispness and clarity is perfect - that's just a starter though.
2. This image transports me - it make me feel that I've stepped through a time portal and this is where I have ended up. It has an uncommon level of realism.
3. Part of that is down to the coloration - it's so naturalistic; you have the saturation and contrast profiles absolutely perfect.
4. The angle and POV adds much interest , it's clearly a wide shot but avoids any distortion - again, the perspective, DOF and feel are like a camera lens has not mediated the scene. It's eerie.
5. I really like the eclectic subject matter too - so matter of fact, casual but precise.
Overall, this is masterful - I don't know how you've done it but you hit the sweet spot in my brain perfectly. I love it. |

1. This is immense - the toning and management of contrast is just brilliant.
2. I see you but I don't recognise you - I'm sure I should. I like how boldly you stand there.
3. Then, there are the other stories playing out behind you to the left and right; couples enjoying the scene. Excellent.
4. Then the marvellous sky - teased into drama by your post processing. It adds much.
5. Then the doors, framing each of the three stories lending physical hypothecation to the overall scene.
Overall, I think this is fantastic. |

This is one of my 8s - I like it a good deal. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. Fascinating choices you've made - suggest a story and then confine it to 'mere' background while trying to distract us with a couple of brooms. I think that is a little bit of genius!
2. The back room / scene makes us want to shift our viewing perspective and to get a better sense of what is going on.
3. That flash of green and red attracts our attention and we begin to wonder what those artefacts are.
Overall, an image steeped in ambiguity. Great stuff. |

1. I'm a sucker for a good POV and this certainly has that.
2. I really like the colours, it must have been tempting to go monochrome but I'm sure you've made the right choice.
3. I like the bands of illumination down the escalator, presumably echoing light fittings above.
4. I also like how there is just one person and how that is suggestive of a late night.
Overall, I like the 'being there' feeling I get from this. |

1. Despite (or perhaps because of) the clutter, this is a compelling portrait image - it seems to be very authentic and is all the better for it.
2. The clutter, as I think about it, does help - it almost forms a tunnel for the eye, leading it to his face.
3. High contrast but gentle tones on the face - it's a juxtaposition that works.
Overall, one that catches my eye and holds my attention. |
