A little more attention to the background i.e. remove the clutter would have helped, and maybe a portrait crop. The square crop is interesting, however as your background is messy it detracts rather than adds to the image.
Even though I suspect you have used on camera flash, the light coming from the back left of the photo enhances the outline. Getting down to eye level is also good.

Looks like the Na Pali coastline on on the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i. Looks slightly off level to me though, and I'm a stickler for that :-)
