I like the use of the shadow here. Might have wanted to "straighten up" the hydrant, though.

Nice idea. For me, this would work better with the entire fire plug in the shot, and straightened so the fireplug sides are parallel to the sides of the photo.

Like the angle of the shadow and all the texture in the concrete and paint. Wish the hydrant had a bit more breathing room on top and some to the right.

I like the choice of subject you chose, but I think the compostion lets it down, don't like that you cropped part of the main subject off!!

Nice light and texture; I don't care much for the crop though.

has a snapshotty feel to it. this could have been a much better image, if you had taken just a minute to compose ypur picture. you could have stepped 2 or 3 feet back to get the whole thing into the frame. a lower point of view (instead of the usual view from eye level) together with a shallow DOF (=wide aperture) to blur the background had emphasized the "human" shape of the hydrant.

Nice shot, but I belive the edges of fire hidrant should not have been cropped.

Comment by Quasimojo:
Such a shame that the right hand side of the hydrant is out of shot because otherwise I'd really like this. There's lovely texture and colour on the hydrant itself and against the gravel floor...plus the shadow really appeals..but it really needs the main subject in its entirely to really work.
