World Enough and Time

Description
As a New Year begins it seems fitting to meditate on the passing of time and the span of life. The challenge title is from the first line of Andrew Marvell's "To His Coy Mistress", a poem that contains this fairly poignant expression of the human condition:
"But at my back I always hear
Time’s wingèd chariot hurrying near;
And yonder all before us lie
Deserts of vast eternity."
Make of it what you will, and a wonderful New Year to all of you!
